Lindesfarne Day 5

Before I start today's post, I forgot to mention that all around the Island are generators.  Thought nothing of it until we were told, back in September the council were doing some work near the causeway & managed to cut through the electricity cable!!!  They are still deciding what to do about it, so there are generators dotted around to keep the Island in electricity!!

Also if you are planning to come to the Island to visit the castle - you'll have to wait until Spring 2018, as there are major conservation works going on there!!

Anyway back to the blog.  I decided I need to try another walk today & as it was such a glorious day I had to make the effort & take my bruises with me (although I would have liked to leave them behind!!)

This Island has so many walks, you can do a different one every day!!  Plus the wildlife is incredible & the views fantastic, so here are just a few of the amazing scenes and birdies!

So I'm getting walking in, lots of reading, total relaxation and some daft games!! What more can you want from a holiday?  Still the champion of 5 & 3s but lost my domino & rummy crown - there's time to regain it though!!

Lovely meal tonight at the Crown.  Baked goats cheese, rocker & a balsamic reduction, simple but tasty!! 

Well tomorrow is Saturday, bet that means the crowds will invade our peaceful Island!!!
