Lindesfarne Day 2

Nice long lie in for me - didn't wake up till 7.45!  After breakfast made an appointment for a guided walk tomorrow, so that should be fun

Very windy today, but we went for a walk anyway down to the castle.  It would have been fine, but it's closed for renovations!!  Deep joy!  However out there there are some walled gardens which will be nice in summer, but it was still nice to see them.

The view of the back of the castle was good too, although it was a little drizzly by now.

We still continued to walk round the back of the castle where we found the Limestone kilns.  They were really interesting I've never seen anything like that before.

We then walked back - well battled against the wind for lunch & then a relaxing afternoon.

Afternoon consisted of dominoes, fives & threes, rummy & boggle!  Im the dominoes/fives & threes, rummy champ & Eddie is boggle champ!

Decided to eat out tonight, so we went to each of the 2 pubs we visited last night, & they were weren't doing food!  Augh!  So we tried the hotel & it was really very nice in there, so alls well that ends well.

Had a little problem in the cottage - the curtain rail on the back window was held on with one screw when we arrived.  It's now not held on at all, it's on the floor!!  The owner is going to sort it at some point!!  It wouldn't be a holiday without a little drama!  Roll on tomorrow
